With regards to the issue of dealing with 'bad days' during the times our fellow sisters cannot pray.

Here is a reply from one of our female tumblrians from muslimsociety:

Assalamualaikum sis!

Masha Allah, thank you for the very very kind words, it’s really heartwarming to know that we’re getting support.

Thank you for raising this up because i’m sure its a common issue rarely discussed because alot of our sisters feel shy about it, me included. But trust me, you are never alone. I, myself, feel that the PMS period is a very testing one. And sometimes you feel so frustrated that you are not able to pray, whatmore with the uncomfortable feeling that bugs us for almost a week or less. (Been there, done that sis, teehee)

Regarding your question, like what brother syamil has said, we can still recite the Quran. No issues with that at all. Alhamdulillah :) in fact we can also occupy our time by watching inspiring youtube videos in handling ‘emo days’ :D insha Allah we’ll put up some good ones here in future.

And masha Allah, how can we forget this part? Dzikir sessions, sister! The ‘shiokness’ of dzikir is indescribable. There is immeasurable power in dzikir.

There is a saying that goes- Start practicing zikr today, you will soon see how your world changed! You can read more here :D

It is undeniable that dzikir has countless benefits to the soul. You only get to feel it, if you try it yourself :) This is simply because, Allah swt mentioned in the Quran that

”Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest”

-Quran [13:28]

Turn to Allah in times of despair, He is always there for you :)

PS: One of our female tumblrian here is an aunt agony. Hehehe. You can always request anonymity and drop your email address so she can communicate with you personally. Insha Allah, may we strengthen our ukhwah fillah as sisters of Islam.

Wallahualam.
