Firstly, thank you for the question. I hope what I am going to share would not offend anyone. I am sincerely answering the question posed. Warning: while reading, some parties might be in denial and disagree. My request is for you to be sincere with yourself. Bismillah.
Allah s.w.t have mentioned in the Holy Quran, Surah Al-Isra’, verse 32:
- Do not go near Zina (adultery), for it is a shameful and an evil deed.
In this verse, Allah prohibits not only premarital sex or adultery, but everything and anything which might lead to it. Hence, I have to say Boy-Girl Relationship is not acceptable in Islam.
A couple may claim that their relationship is (at that point of time) contact-free, for the sake of Allah and so on and so forth, so its okay. The truth is, Shaitan is an excellent and a convincing liar. You will never know when one thing leads to another. But Allah knows, hence the order to stay away. Even the Strong-faithed Muslims have fallen for Shaitan’s tricks. Nauzubillah.
Advice for those who are “stucked” in a relationship:
Yes, the wonderful feeling is indeed from Him. To be attracted to someone of the opposite sex is normal. But just reflect, when you are in an unlawful relationship, how many hours a day do you spend just thinking about your “other half”? and how many hours do you think about your God? Answer yourself sincerely. To call off a relationship is not easy especially when the feeling is still there. Plus, Shaitan won’t just let you off that easily. He’ll tell you that your relationship is under control. haha. But, insyallah, take it slow. Set your priorities. Ask for His assistance. Do it together with your partner. If he/she really loves you for you, he/she would agree. This is indeed Jihad.
